Oliville is a failed mining village in Acacia Plains County known for its dedication to historical representation sporting a rustic western vibe and regularly scheduled steam trains. Amenities include a market, a bank, a tavern, a water tower, an abandoned mill and dock, a housing office, several farms of various crops, a factory, and both passenger and freight rail service. Home to its singular resident and founder, Elementalcraft, Oliville is an excellent choice for a starting home location.

The Birth of Oliville

On an autumn day in 2024, the weather of Acacia Plains County was mild and ideal for prospecting. Elementalcraft panned up and down the river in search of gold in the area and just before reaching what is now known as Oliville Lake, he managed to uncover a couple flakes of golden glory. A short ways from this, Elementalcraft staked his claim with the county government, and since there was no such government instituted, he was self-approved to start a settlement and begin mining operations.

The house was small, but Elementalcraft's Humble Home became a place of peace and solitude where he could begin his mining adventure and thus marking the first step in the construction of Oliville. Expecting others to seek similar fortune, Elementalcraft sent for rail service to be established and built a post office in preparation. When rail was lain near the Post office and Oliville Station was erected, the village was beginning to take shape and soon the mill and docks filled out the cliffside river area and allowed for an alternate form of transportation.

Elementalcraft waited for inhabitants to arrive, yet each train after the next arrived empty and figuring Oliville just needed more services, he built several farms, a water tower, a housing office, and a bank and began construction on a factory. Over time, the village center became a nice place to be with the addition of a tavern, a market, and a shadow clock in the village center.

The Land of Steam

After finishing the factory, Elementalcraft decided what Oliville really needed was tourism! And so began the start of a massive project to turn a section of the Acacia Plains River into Oliville Lake. Four dams were to be constructed consisting of two main control dams on the west side of the lake on either side of Prosper Island, a terrain dam on the north outlet, and a primary spillway on the east end of the lake. Massive hydropumps upriver keep the lake full for recreation. Elementalcraft has plans to expand Oliville's charm in the spirit of manifest destiny.
